With Walter Amstutz and new climbing companions such as Hans Steger and the famous mountaineer and ski racer Paula Wiesinger from Bolzano, the King climbed in the Engadin, the Bregaglia, the Gotthard, the Bernese Oberland, the Valais, the Mont Blanc area, the Austrian Alps, the Dolomites and the Cottish Alps (Alpes Cottiennes/Alpi Cozie, SW of Torino). By now he was already nearing his 60th year.
