 The King Albert I Memorial Foundation was established by the King Albert Fund and registered in Zürich in 1993.
The main purpose of the Foundation is to honour persons or institutions that have distinguished themselves through exceptional and lasting achievements in the Mountain World.
The Foundation may also support institutions or individuals dedicated to scientific, artistic and social projects as well as accident prevention and the protection of the environment.
It is intended to extend the activities of the Foundation to support young people training in mountaineering schools or working on Alpine projects.
